Discovering Your Love Story with Tacoma's Premier Wedding Photography
Every love story deserves to be told in its purest form, and in the scenic vistas of Tacoma, Washington, these narratives find their perfect canvas. Photography isn’t just about pictures; it’s about capturing the unspoken tales of love, joy, and intimate moments that make your wedding uniquely yours.
The Essence of Washington Weddings: Washington’s diverse landscapes, from the majestic Cascade Mountains to the serene Pacific Coast, offer a splendid backdrop for your special day. My photography embraces these natural settings, ensuring your wedding photos are unique and tell your authentic love story. My intentions and truest hope is that when my couples look back on their photos they know that I saw them. I saw the beauty in them and that its reflected back in my photos of them. Because we are not all vogue models or maybe the most photogenic people, but we all deserve to be captured in a way that our happiness and inner beauty shines!
Client Testimonial:
“Hiring Samantha was the best decision we made during the planning process of our wedding. I have been in the events industry for over a decade but, surprisingly (or not), have rarely been in front of the camera. My husband and I are both introverts and being the portrait subject just made us downright terrified. She was extremely gracious and accommodating and agreed
to drive all the way down to the Outer Banks to capture pictures in a place that holds a special place in our hearts. Sam’s communication and reassurance ahead of our engagement session helped us feel comfortable and once we shook off the nerves, we were golden. Our elopement was very different and we ended the day at my parents’ house where they had a small brunch for me and my husband. We invited Sam to join us and we had the best time just sitting around the dining room table (where I’ve spent many nights and birthdays growing up) talking about any and everything. This will remain one of my fondest memories of the day. My mom remarked a few days later about how much she enjoyed getting to know her.
As someone who generally doesn’t like pictures of themselves, I regularly find myself looking at pictures from our wedding and our engagement session both and feeling so grateful that we had Sam to capture our story.””
““Sam is absolutely wonderful. I was a bit hesitant of committing to having a photographer, particularly because I’m not the greatest fan of having my photo taken and also because we had decided to have a non traditional elopement/wedding. However, from the very beginning, she made us feel completely at ease. She is a wonderful listener, adventurous (got up at 4 am to hike up a mountain and catch the sunrise with us), flexible and incredibly talented. We could have not chosen a better person to capture our time together and I will be forever grateful for all the hard work she did for us. So if you are looking for a gifted, joyful, flexible, reliable and loving human to commemorate your special occasion, you should definitely choose Sam””
The Art of Authentic Photography:
-
In-the-Moment Captures: I will look to capture candid moments, so that you don’t miss out on seeing those fleeting glances and subtle smiles. You will now have a lifetime together to go back and see that moment.
-
Embracing Washington’s Beauty: Yeah, Washington is beautiful, but for people that live here we know that there are some place that might not be the ideal scenic background. I don’t care where we go, my goal is to make it art! Whether that is Colchuck Lake and Alpine or gritty downtown Seattle, I want to make your photos unique and beautiful.
-
Narrative Photography: I will start your wedding day with you. From the moment you sit in the make up seat or walk out of your tents, right up to finishing the night with a last dance or a jump in a lake! When I say I have a documentary style that means I’m going to capture the day as it unfolds, not made up and fake moments.
Selecting the Ideal Photographer:
Your choice of photographer is crucial. Look for someone who aligns with your vision, understands the uniqueness of Washington’s landscapes, and connects with you personally. From the first email inquiry I’m looking to see if we will click. I want to have a phone call with the couple, not just one person. If you choose me as your photographer I will set up various video and phone call so we get to know each other to setting up timelines, and a shot list on your wedding day. I insist on this because when your engagement shoot or wedding day comes along I don’t want to be some stranger with a camera in your face. I want us to be friends and I want you BOTH to know that I am here for you and have you back. That means making sure you are comfortable with any directions I give you to trusting me when I say that a photo isn’t going to work.
Preserving Memories:
You’ve probably read this on every wedding photographers website: wedding photos are more than images; they are timeless treasures! And even though it’s corny and a over used, it’s true! These images are heirlooms that loved ones and family will be able to look at and pass down through generation! I have a photo from my grandparents wedding day on my desk. And even though they divorced before I was even born, it’s something I cherish because I get to see what they looked like when they were young and having the time of their lives. My grandfather died in 2020 and I’m so thankful to have this photo of him joyous and in love. It’s why each of my wedding collections has a Wedding Album Credit. I want you to have something solid, that can be touched, felt, and passed down for future generation to look at fondly. After delivering your album I ask my couples to put a heart on the photos they want in their album, and then I create a virtual album that we will look over during a 1 hour video call! I also recommend printing your favorites, backing up digital files, and sharing these precious moments with loved ones.
